As a personal trainer living in NYC, I kept running into the same problem:
I wanted to feel good in my body, but eating out felt like a gamble.
Even when I tried to make a better choice, it wasn’t always clear what that actually was.
So instead of guessing, I started testing.
Over the past year, I’ve walked all over the city.
I read ingredient lists.
I asked what oils restaurants use.
I talked to owners, chefs, and staff.
And I paid attention to how food actually made me feel afterward.
This map is the result.
It’s not about perfection.
It’s not about being 100% “clean.”
And it’s definitely not about shaming anyone for what they eat.
It’s about better options.

I made the Healthy NYC Map so anyone can use it — no gatekeeping, no pressure.
My goal is simple:
To make eating better in NYC realistic, not restrictive.
